Melody's Family
Melody’s mother, Marilyn Arons, is a well-known expert in special education and has developed the field of nonlawyer practice. Those activities are documented on Taking Off the Gloves website at www.marilynsuearons.com. In the Arons’ neighborhood, however, she was simply known as “Melody’s Mom”. She viewed that role to be her most important credential and Melody as her most talented teacher. Saturdays were cooking days for the week, so that by 10 A.M. the kitchen had at least 10 children in it with Melody in charge of who would lick the cake batter pans.

Melody’s father, Raymond Arons was an Apollo Lunar Module rocket scientist before becoming a member of the hospital staff and professor of public health at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center for 36 years.  He currently is a professor at the Baruch/Mount Sinai MBA program. He specializes in health services research using large-scale care data sets for policy and clinical analysis. His fame as the Daddy who fixed broken bikes was well established during Melody’s formative years.

Melody’s brother, Jonathan, is a professional entertainer, trombone player and dancer. Eight years younger than Melody, he was part of her ever-moving world, growing up with Heavy Metal music in one room, Puccini and Gershwin in another. His website is www.jonathanarons.com.

The Arons family was tightly knit, protecting one another from those on the outside who did not understand Melody’s special needs, bringing in as extended family those who did. And so they remain. Dr. and Mrs. Arons are CEO and CFO, respectively, of MAC. Mr. Arons is a member of the Board of Trustees.
