The Melody Arons Center presents a 2009 program for parents with infants and toddlers in early intervention. There is no charge and free child care is available. Meetings are designed to provide a positive experience in a relaxed setting, where parents can meet and form a support network. A MAC parent hotline will be created for use by the group. In order to protect the privacy of the participants, each will sign a confidentiality agreement assuring the group that nothing said during the meetings will be disclosed outside of the meeting. Sessions are chaired by Marilyn Arons, MAC Director. The motto for the group is, “We are all learning from each other.”

Meetings are scheduled for the first Monday of each month.

2009 EI Parent Support Night Schedule

January/February
The group will get acquainted and determine the needs to be met. A parent hotline will be developed.

March/April
Transition from early intervention into the public school will be explained in detail. Parents will be encouraged to bring their early intervention IFSPs and evaluations with them in order to better understand the transition process.

May/June
The group will receive a copy of New Jersey’s recent laws governing early intervention. These laws will be explained during the final two months, with role playing by the group to better understand the problems that may arise, as well as strategies for resolving them.

All sessions are held at 210 Carlton Terrace, Teaneck, New Jersey from 7:30- 9:30 P.M.
