Direct instruction available at MAC falls into four categories. They are:
- 2-1 center-based instruction based upon the child’s individual needs
- Play groups not exceeding 5 children with a minimum of three adults at least one time weekly
- Parent training in two forms:
- Training in carrying over the techniques and methods at MAC into the home setting. A minimum of three home visits is included.
- Monthly parent training classes in special education law, with emphasis on ages 0-5.
- ABC Neuroscience Study. Enrollment in this study is on a limited basis. An interview, record review, and play session with the child is required prior to acceptance. All instruction is 1-1 and all sessions are videotaped. A Memorandum of Understanding is required between MAC and the parent/caregiver after acceptance is received and prior to beginning participation in the study. Parents/ caregivers are required to attend weekly sessions with the child, agree to be videotaped, and actively participate in all activities as appropriate.
